Jennifer and I had an enjoyable time in Tucson, which has lots to offer. But the city itself did not seem to have a lot of visual history and character. There are some small pockets where a sense of history was still palpable – around the Presidio and south of Cushing Street – but otherwise did not inspire my photography. I did really enjoy the DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun, despite questions about indigenous appropriation and DeGrazia’s uncritical take on Tohono Oʼodham assimilation. For cyclists like us, Tucson is very bicycle friendly, and the Loop Trail was a delight.
