Who we are

My name is Colin Campbell and this website (address: https://wonderscapes.ca) is only a vehicle to show my images, express my take on things, and receive messages from site visitors who choose to use my Contact Form. I do not collect personal information, and I do not share any personal information of site visitors and users knowingly, except for analytics and site protection purposes – more information below and in my Cookie Policy. Regarding the contact form, any communication with me is kept strictly confidential and will be erased upon request. Just be aware that your visit to this site (as with most sites) may be monitored by third parties such as Facebook and Google. Much of the information below is the default data collection policy provided by wordpress.org. I will adhere to it to the best of my (limited) ability.

WordPress

This website uses WordPress CMS (Content Management System).  This WordPress installation includes a number of plugins, some of which collect data and use cookies for performance purposes.  See sections below as well as the Cookie Policy.

Comments

This site does not currently have active the function to leave comments. However, it if does at some point then: When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

This site does not currently have the function active to upload images. However, it if does at some point then: If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

WPForms is used on this website. For more information on this WordPress plugin, go to https://wpforms.com/. It is GDPR compliant. Your contact form submissions will be confidential and not shared, and will be deleted upon request. Please be aware that when you use the contact form you are providing me with your email address to my personal email account. I will not use your email address for any other purpose except to respond to your contact form submission, and it will be deleted immediately upon request.

Cookies

Please see my Cookie Policy for more details. This site does not currently have active the function to leave comments. However, it if does at some point then: If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. This site does not currently have active the function to register for an account. However, it if does at some point then: If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed. This site does not include the functionality to edit or publish an article. However, it if does at some point then: If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day. Google Analytics does use cookies, please see the section on Analytics below.

Who we share your data with

We do not knowingly share any personal data with anyone, except as stated for analytics and site protection purposes – see Analytics (above) and Where We Send Your Data (below). By default WordPress states it does not share any personal data with anyone either.

How long we retain your data

This site does not currently have active the function to leave comments. However, it if does at some point then: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. This site does not currently have active the function to register for an account. However, it if does at some point then: For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Submissions through the contact form may be stored or deleted, but will be deleted immediately upon request.

What rights you have over your data

This site does not currently have active the function to leave comments or to register for an account. However, it if does at some point then: If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service (see Akismet below). Visitor comments (if the function is active at any point) and contact form submissions may be checked through automated spam detection services or other site protection services such as Site Lock, WPBrusier, and Akismet (see below), or other protection services.

This website is not used for commercial purposes.

Akismet’s Statement

We collect information about visitors who comment on Sites that use our Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site, but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).
