Anza-Borrego is a California State Park to the west of the Salton Sea. It is a vast area of desert terrains: mountains, badlands, slot canyons and more. Jennifer and I hiked there several times during our stay in the Coachella Valley in the winter of 2017. Although we saw some beautiful desert flowers, we missed a “super bloom” that we could see coming, but which occurred about a week after we had left the area.
